Become a Virtual Foster

Not everyone can bring a foster pet into their home, but you can still help save lives from wherever you are. Our Virtual Foster Program allows volunteers to support adoptable dogs and cats remotely by helping promote animals currently living in approved foster homes. By sharing posts, creating content, and helping network pets online, virtual fosters play a huge role in helping animals get seen and adopted faster. Whether you love social media, storytelling, photography, or simply sharing adoptable pets with friends and family, you can make a difference.

What Does a Virtual Foster Do?

Virtual fosters work alongside our foster coordinator and in-home foster families to help animals gain visibility and connect with potential adopters.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Creating adoption posts and social media content
  • Sharing photos, videos, and pet biographies
  • Posting adoptable pets in community networking groups
  • Helping promote adoption events
  • Encouraging adoption applications through official channels
  • Highlighting rescue stories, milestones, and transformations

Virtual fosters do not provide physical housing or direct care unless separately approved as an in-home foster.

How the Program Works

Step 1: Fill out our form

Start by telling us a little about yourself so we can get you started.

Step 2: Get matched with a foster

We’ll pair you with a foster animal that fits your interest and availability.

Step 3: Connect with your in-home foster

Work directly with the foster family to learn about your animal and support them virtually.

Why Virtual Fostering Matters

Many amazing animals are overlooked simply because they are not being seen by the right people. Consistent networking and exposure can dramatically increase adoption opportunities.

By becoming a virtual foster, you help:

  • Increase adoption visibility
  • Support in-home foster families
  • Expand awareness of rescue efforts
  • Share the importance of fostering and adoption
  • Help animals find loving homes faster

Even one share can change a life.

Who Can Become a Virtual Foster?

To participate, volunteers should:

  • Be at least 18 years old (or have adult supervision and signed parental approval)
  • Have access to social media or online networking platforms
  • Maintain respectful and professional communication
  • Follow rescue communication and branding guidelines
  • Complete a volunteer agreement

No previous fostering experience is required.

Ready to Help Save Lives?

You can make a huge impact without ever opening your home. By becoming a virtual foster, you become part of the team helping our rescue pets get the visibility, support, and second chances they deserve.
