Need A Hiking Buddy?

We can help! Our dogs need the exercise and human interaction.

Lending Paws A Hand is proud to offer the Tails on Trails program, which pairs members of the community with shelter dogs for field trips. Outings can last from an hour to a half day, and can include a hike, a jog, or a leisurely walk. Whether you already have a dog or aren’t ready to have one, it’s a great way to positively impact the lives of homeless pets.

The Tails on Trails program was created to help reduce kennel stress and provide dogs with enrichment and increased visibility. Outings give the rescue valuable insight on how the dogs behave outside a shelter environment. It’s also a great excuse to spend a day doing something new or exploring our area!

The program is designed to make it fun for the community to participate, so volunteering is easy. Participants will be provided with everything they need for a successful field trip with a canine sidekick.

An hour or two of your time will bring hope and joy to these pups that will last them a lifetime. For more information about the Tails on Trails program, please complete an application to get started.
